Prescribed burns help to keep grasslands and forests healthy by removing accumulated fuel, recycling nutrients, encouraging the growth of native plants, and reducing invasive species and shrubs.

Learn about the tools and safety protocols used to conduct prescribed fires at Washington County Parks. There will also be info and resources for native habitat restoration on private lands.
